The hydraulic counterblow hammer GH
is considered for heavy parts demanding blow energies of more than 160
kJ.
LASCO was pioneer and inventor of the hydraulic drive system for die forging
hammers.
Counterblow hammers have an upper and a lower ram, which are accelerated
towards each other. The ratio of mass of upper and lower ram is between
1:4 to 1:5 depending on the hammer size.
As a result, the lower ram moves between 4 to 5 times more slowly than
the upper ram, delivering an impact speed of about 6 m/s.
